JOIN US FOR WORSHIP IN-PERSON OR VIA LIVESTREAM THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 17
We will worship in-person this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. as we begin a new series of messages focusing on the life of the prophet Elijah entitled, "Faithfulness Matters!" The culture all around us seems to be moving further and further away from God. You may be wondering, "What's the point in being faithful to God?" Elijah was a man of God who experienced great victory and great disappointment in his life. He often felt defeated. He probably asked himself, "What have I accomplished? Have I made any difference? Does my life even matter?" Maybe you have asked yourself some of the same questions. If your energy is drained and your motivation is gone, you need to know that faithfulness matters! Come join us this Sunday as we reflect upon the need for "Courage in the Darkness" and discover the surprising influence of a righteous life in an unrighteous world!

For those who are unable to attend in person, our livestream service begins at 10:40 a.m. on YouTube and on our church Facebook page. The entire service will also be viewable on YouTube and Facebook after the livestream has ended. (You can also access the service through our website at churchillbaptist.org or through the Churchill app.) If you have a Facebook account and have "liked" our page, Facebook will send out a push notification when we go LIVE! You will also be able to "share" the post with your friends on Facebook.

TABLE TALK
Discussion questions for your family about today's message from God's Word.

1. What do you think it would have been like to have been a faithful, God-fearing Israelite living under the reign of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel?

2. How does the spiritual and moral decline of King Ahab serve as a warning for us today?

3. The appearance of Elijah, God's faithful prophet, was like a light shining in the darkness. The Bible commentator, Matthew Henry said, "Never was Israel so blessed with a good prophet as when it was so plagued with a bad king." Discuss this with your family. Elijah described himself as one who stood before God. What does this tells us about his relationship to God? How can we be people who stand before God today?
