EASTER WORSHIP SERVICE

“The Story of the Stone” (Matthew 28:1-10)
In this message, you will hear the story of the stone that was rolled away from the tomb on Easter Sunday.  What does this stone have to say to us?  Watch and see how this stone stands as a witness to the greatest event in the history of the world: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead!

Click on the link to watch on Sunday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m.!

https://youtu.be/Hleao9DKpPc

You can also go to the church website and click on the banner that says, “Click here to watch our Worship Service on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.” (The Worship Service videos are available to watch anytime!)

TABLE TALK

  1. How is this Easter different this year for you and your family?  Discuss together why the world especially needs, at this time, the message of hope that the Resurrection of Jesus brings.

  2. Discuss with your family how the stone that was rolled away depicts the removal of death’s door.  Since death is now like a room without a door, what does this mean for us as Christians when we think about the end of our lives?

  3. The stone stands as a witness to the empty tomb along with the women who arrived on Easter morning. The women were invited to “come” and “see” and then commanded to “go and tell” the good news.  With whom can you share the good news of Easter this year?  Pray with your family for people you know who need to hear the good news of our Risen Savior.

FLOWERING THE CROSS ALTERNATIVE
Since we will not be able to flower the cross together as a church family this year, we have come up with a few ideas for you to do as a family at home.  Some important things to remember about this is to have fun, be creative, and please use items you already have on hand!  Don’t forget to share what your family came up with to flower the cross at home and post a picture on our church's shared Google album of how your family is participating each day. Here are some examples of ideas to get you started (but do not limit yourselves to just these):

  • Color a cross (printable file available on the church website under the HomePointe Center)
  • Take a piece of paper, put tape on it in the shape of a cross, paint around it and then pull of the tape
  • Find some sticks, branches, and flowers, make a cross out of the sticks and place the flowers on it. (you can also make tissue paper flowers)
  • Bake some cookies in the shape of a cross and frost them
  • Use chalk to write a favorite Easter scripture in your driveway or on your sidewalk
