A Word from Pastor Neil about Resuming Worship Services

As many of you know, the state of Texas has entered into a new phase of reopening businesses. As a church staff, we have been praying and planning for the day when we will be able to safely resume worship services. We may be ready to do this as early as Sunday, June 7.

Whenever we begin in-person worship services, we know that there will be some who will not be comfortable or able to attend due to the COVID-19 threat. This is certainly understandable, and we want you to know that we will miss you, and we will pray for you. For those folks at home, you will be able to access our worship service online through livestreaming.

In full compliance with state and local guidelines, here is a picture of what resuming worship could look like for our church family.

*We would begin with two morning worship services. We are considering a 9:00 a.m. worship service for people over the age of 65 and their immediate family members. The idea for this service would be to help protect people who are more at risk.

*We would have an 11:00 a.m. worship service primarily for those under the age of 65.

*We will begin with WORSHIP ONLY with no Sunday School on campus and no childcare.

*We will encourage everyone to wear masks and practice social distancing in the parking lots and upon entering the church building.

*We will have one designated entrance and one designated exit. Hand sanitizer will be provided at each door.

*We will have collection boxes and envelopes available for offerings at each door. (No offering baskets will be passed during the service.)

*Ushers will seat each family as they arrive. Families will be seated AT LEAST SIX FEET APART ON EVERY OTHER PEW.

*We will encourage you to continue to wear masks throughout the course of the worship service. (The Pastor and Praise Team will not wear masks as they lead in worship.)

*We will remove all hymnbooks, Bibles, and other items from the pews.

*We will thoroughly sanitize restrooms, pews, and all high touch surfaces before and after each service.

*When each service is concluded, ushers will dismiss families, one row at time. Everyone will leave the building through the designated exit.

*Members of the church family will be urged to continue practicing social distancing once outside the church building.

*As we resume worship services in the Sanctuary, Churchill en Espanol will resume worship services in the gym.

Additional Notes:
The technological challenge of successfully livestreaming our services has led us to purchase new cameras and equipment which will be necessary to accomplish this task. Our goal is to continue to provide a quality online worship experience.

Our Churchill Deacon body will be meeting this Sunday, May 24 to discuss these plans for resuming our worship services in the days ahead. If you have any questions or concerns, please share them with any of our deacons. Thank you for your prayers as we look forward to coming together again soon as a church family. May God bless you all!
