UPDATE ON RESUMING WORSHIP SERVICES
I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD!" (Psalm 122:1)

This Sunday, June 7, our pre-recorded Sunday morning service will be available online as usual, but we are also going to offer an outdoor/drive-up service at 10:00 AM where people can stay in their cars or sit in chairs with social distancing in the shade under the trees outside of the FLC. The music and message will be similar to the service which will be available online. We are excited to be able to worship together again in person. We hope to see many of you there!
IN THE EVENT OF RAIN, THIS SERVICE WILL BE CANCELLED.

We are tentatively planning to resume Sunday morning worship services in the sanctuary at Churchill on June 14. We will have a 9:00 AM service primarily for those in our church family who are 65+ and their immediate family members. We will have another service at 11:00 AM for everyone else. We will employ enhanced sanitation procedures and social distancing practices. There will be no on-campus Sunday school or childcare available at this time. ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICES WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROVIDED.

The reason these plans are tentative at this point is because we are relying on the recommendations of our resident medical expert, Dr. Eduardo Macias, a cardiologist at UT Health Center, who is a member of Churchill. Dr. Macias wants to examine the COVID-19 data for our city on Monday, June 8, which will be two weeks after Memorial Day. If there is no significant spike in the number of hospitalizations, then Dr. Macias will recommend that it is safe to resume services in the Sanctuary on Sunday, June 14.

With these schedule changes on the horizon, we will be discontinuing the joint adult Sunday School at 9:15 AM. Sunday School teachers have been encouraged to conduct their own Zoom classes beginning on June 7 at the time of their own choosing. We are hoping that the smaller classes will encourage more fellowship and opportunities for discussion. This will be an excellent opportunity to reconnect with class members and hopefully encourage one another through your virtual fellowship. Contact your Sunday School teacher for more details about your class!

SUNDAY WORSHIP ONLINE
Pastor Neil's sermon: "Deeper Grace" (Lamentations 3:1-33)

It was Corrie Ten Boom, the survivor of the Nazi death camps who said, "There is no pit so deep that God is not deeper still." In this message from Lamentations 3, we will discover that, even when we reach the depths of suffering and despair, God is there with us. Great is His faithfulness!

Table Talk
Discussion questions for your family about today's message from God's Word.

1. How has suffering increased in cities across America in the aftermath of the tragic death of George Floyd? How does the prophet Jeremiah's experience of suffering make him uniquely qualified to speak to those who are suffering today?

2. Read Lamentations 3:22-23 aloud with you family and discuss these verses. Write out these verses and help each other to memorize them. Make this a family project this week!

3. There are many verses in Lamentations 3 which seem to foreshadow the suffering of Jesus at the cross. Why is this important? See how many of these verses you can find. What does the death of Christ on the cross teach us about how God relates to us in our suffering? Discuss this with your family.

AWANA AWARDS CELEBRATION
Although we were unable to finish out the AWANA year as we had planned, we still want to recognize the accomplishments of the kids. We will have a drive thru AWARDS NIGHT on Sunday, June 7, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church parking lot. Please enter through the back parking lot. If you have any questions please let Rich Reisberg know. (rreisberg@satx.rr.com)
