JOIN US FOR WORSHIP ONLINE THIS SUNDAY, AUGUST 9, FOR THE BEST NEWS EVER!
Pastor Neil's Sermon: "Best News Ever!" (2 Corinthians 5:21)
"Best News Ever!" That is the title of this message from 2 Corinthians 5:21. This verse unpacks the meaning of the cross of Jesus to help us understand that, for those who have trusted in Jesus Christ, our sins were laid on Jesus and counted as His. At the same time, His righteousness was laid on us and counted as ours. If you put your faith in Jesus you will discover that this truly is the best news ever!

Click on the link below to watch the worship service online. The link will be active on Sunday, August 9 by 10:30 a.m.!

Table Talk
Discussion questions for your family about today's message from God's Word.

1. Talk with your family about some examples of really good news that you have heard. What is the most exciting thing about hearing really good news? The word gospel means "good news." How does 2 Corinthians 5:21 summarize the good news of what Jesus did for us on the cross? Why does this qualify as the best news ever?

2. Our text tells us that Jesus was the One who knew no sin. Why was it necessary for Jesus to be sinless in order to be our Savior?

3. Why is it important to understand that Jesus came, not only to die for our sins, but also to live the life we should have lived but failed to do? Imagine what it will be like to stand before the throne of God in glory, clothed with the righteousness of Christ! Discuss this with your family, and give thanks to Jesus for what he has done to save us.

"DRIVE BY AND SAY HI" FELLOWSHIP SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 15
The church will once again host a "Drive-by and Say Hi" Fellowship in the church parking lot on Saturday, August 15. Pastor Neil, Marc, Stephanie, April, Abraham, and Pastor Javier from Churchill en Espanol (along with their spouses) will be stationed at different corners of the church parking lot, and we invite you to Drive By and Say "Hi!" We want to have a brief "How's-it-going?" conversation with you and your family and then perhaps to say a prayer for you. We look forward to seeing you all and having a nice social distancing chat!

Our church staff will be passing out some tasty treats and also distributing communion cups in preparation for sharing in the Lord's Supper on Sunday, August 16. Sunday School books for the next quarter will be available as well!

CELEBRATION OF THE LORD'S SUPPER, SUNDAY, AUGUST 16
On Sunday, August 16, we are planning to celebrate the Lord's Supper as a part of our online worship service. At the Drive-By Fellowship on August 15, we will distribute prefilled communion cups with grape juice and crackers sealed in convenient single serving containers. If you are unable to come to the Drive-By Fellowship, the communion cups will be available for pickup at the church office anytime Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. during the preceding week! (Closed for lunch from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

CHURCH OFFICE HOURS
The church office will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (closed from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch). The phone lines will be open during this time as well. If you call and nobody answers, please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
